Transfer window round-up

As the Daily Echo (despite their ludicrously ongoing ban from St. Marys) have dutifully reported, Saints were the 11th biggest spenders during the January Transfer window, with only two clubs outside the Premier League surpassing their net spend of £2m. The extent to which the chastening economic times are affecting football finances is striking and Saints can count themselves lucky to be in such a position of financial strength. It would be callous to mention our neighbours down the road - our position is favourable even in comparison to some of the biggest clubs, including Man United and Liverpool, whose finances are supported by a complex system which will be hard to clear in the long term.

Daniel Seabourne (undisclosed fee, three and a half years, Exeter)
Jon Otsemobor (free, six months, Norwich) and
Jose Fonte (up to 1.5m, three and a half years, Crystal Palace)
Lee Barnard (Southend, three years, £175,000 and Matt Paterson)
Jason Puncheon (Plymouth, three years, undisclosed)

Neal Trotman (Returns to Preston after loan)
Olly Lancashire (Loaned out Grimsby for six months)
Matt Paterson (Part of Barnard deal, Southend)
Jake Thompson (Loaned out to Torquay for six months)
Marek Saganowski (Atromitos, Free Transfer)

Ah yes my mistake - now amended, thanks Greg

Which team will fill the third relegation spot?

Four games left. Will Saints survive?

Would you be in favour of a return for Rupert?
